Questions are part of every person’s spiritual journey. The Bible doesn’t discourage honest questions—it invites us to seek the truth. We’ve gathered answers to some of the questions we’re asked most often, with each response rooted in God’s Word and designed to help you take your next step in following Jesus.

Getting Started

Questions about beginning a relationship with Jesus.

Salvation isn’t based on your feelings—it’s based on God’s promise. The Bible teaches that everyone who places their faith in Jesus Christ alone for forgiveness and eternal life is saved. If you have trusted Him, you can rest in His promise.

Discover Jesus

No. Jesus invites people to come to Him just as they are. None of us can make ourselves worthy of salvation. God changes us after we come to Him—not before.

When we place our faith in Christ, He forgives our sins, gives us a new heart, and begins changing us from the inside out.

Following Jesus means trusting Him as your Savior and choosing to walk with Him every day. It’s not about earning God’s love—it begins with receiving His grace through faith. As you grow, you’ll learn to obey His Word, spend time with Him in prayer, and become more like Him.

Following Jesus is a lifelong journey of growing in faith, love, and obedience.

The penalty for sin is death, and every one of us has sinned. Because God is holy and just, sin had to be paid for. Jesus willingly took our place on the cross, paying the penalty we deserved so we could be forgiven and reconciled to God.

Three days later He rose again, proving His victory over sin and death.

Absolutely. No sin is greater than God’s grace for those who come to Him through Jesus Christ. When we confess our sins and place our faith in Christ, He completely forgives us and gives us a new beginning.

Growing in Faith

Prayer is simply talking with God. You don’t need special words or a certain formula. Speak honestly to Him, thank Him, confess your sins, ask for His help, and trust that He hears His children.

Begin by asking God for wisdom before you read. Start with the Gospel of John or another Gospel, read a little each day, and look for what the passage teaches about God and how it applies to your life.

The Holy Spirit helps believers understand God’s Word as they grow.

God’s primary will is revealed in His Word. As you grow closer to Him through prayer, Scripture, and wise counsel, He faithfully directs your steps. His guidance often comes one step at a time rather than revealing the entire path at once.

There are times when God feels distant, but His presence doesn’t depend on our feelings. Continue seeking Him through prayer and His Word, trusting that He is working even when you can’t see it.

Struggles & Doubts

Every Christian continues to battle sin. Growth takes time. When you fail, confess your sin to God, receive His forgiveness, and continue following Him. God’s grace is greater than your failures.

While we may not always understand God’s purposes, we know He is loving, wise, and faithful. God can use suffering to strengthen our faith, draw us closer to Him, and bring glory to Himself.

Questions and doubts are not uncommon. Bring them honestly to God. Seek answers in Scripture, pray for wisdom, and talk with mature Christians who can encourage you.

Yes. God hears every prayer offered in faith. Although He may answer differently than we expect—or in His perfect timing—He always hears His children.

Church & Community

Look for opportunities to connect through your local church, Bible studies, small groups, and serving others. Healthy Christian friendships encourage spiritual growth and help us remain faithful.

God designed Christians to grow together. A healthy Bible-believing church provides worship, biblical teaching, encouragement, accountability, and opportunities to serve alongside other believers.

Baptism is a public declaration that you have trusted Jesus Christ as your Savior. It doesn’t save you, but it is an important step of obedience that identifies you with Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection.

Sadly, churches are made up of imperfect people. While hurt is real, don’t let the failures of people keep you from Jesus or from the fellowship He designed for His followers. Seek a healthy, Bible-believing church where Christ is honored and Scripture is faithfully taught.

Living for Christ

You don’t need all the answers. Simply tell others what Jesus has done in your life and share the good news of the Gospel with love, humility, and respect.

God will use your faithful witness.

Don’t give up. Confess your sin, receive God’s forgiveness, and keep following Christ. Every believer stumbles, but God’s grace is sufficient, and He is faithful to restore His children.

Spiritual growth comes as you consistently spend time with God through His Word, prayer, worship, fellowship with other believers, and serving others. Growth is a lifelong process that God faithfully continues in every believer.

For those who have trusted in Jesus Christ, death is the beginning of eternal life with Him. One day Jesus will return, and all who belong to Him will live forever in His presence, where there will be no more sorrow, pain, or death.
